Who is She Read online

"Don't thank me. You'd do the same thing for me... I hope. " She says and hands me a shirt.

"This is such a weird thing for me. I'm hurt and confused by it all, but I feel better in a way. I feel like I've grown as a person and I'm not so trapped anymore." I admit to Leah. I've felt the most extreme surges of emotions over the past day or so.

"Well, maybe this was for the best. It sucks, but you might be better off this way. You know?" She says.

"Mmhm. Either way, I'm glad I have you with me. I'd be totally alone if I didn't have you." I laugh a little and she smiles at me.

I glance down at her lips, the same lips that kissed me last night. I sigh and bite my lip before standing up, "I'm gonna go shower." I tell her.

She nods and grins at me, "I'll go do the same."4

Hours later Leah and I are both showered, her parents are back, and some explanations have been given as to why I'm here. I didn't openly tell Danny's mom that her beloved son was cheating on me. I just told her we were having some problems that couldn't be overlooked right now. I'll tell her the whole story once I'm moved out of here.

It's late now and I'm getting kind of tired, so I look at Leah and stretch my arms.

"Sleepy?" She asks and I nod my head. I toss the pillow to the other side of the couch and stand up, smiling at my ex-future-in-laws and telling them goodnight.

I get halfway up the staircase and I hear the bottom stair creak under the pressure of Leah's foot. I look back at her for a moment and then keep walking.

I go into my room and sit down on the bed and, as expected, she comes in a few steps behind me. She looks at me and turns her back and quietly closes the door and I think she locked it... she was sneaky about it so I couldn't tell.

She walks over to me and sits in front of me. "Yes?" I ask quietly and smirk at her.

"I just wanted to walk you up and say goodnight... trying to be a proper host." She jokes.

"You gonna tuck me in too?" I tease her.

  She laughs, "if you want..."

I bite my lip, "what'd you follow me for?" I ask, wanting the real reason she's here.

"I wanted to apologize for last night. I know it was uncalled for and I'm sorry." She says, "I can see how awkward of a position my actions put you in, and that wasn't my intention."

I nod my head and sigh, "it's alright. I am kinda irresistible." I giggle.

Leah snickers and shakes her head slowly, "would you even be into girls? I'm so stupid sometimes... I don't think."

"I don't think you're stupid... and I don't know how to answer that. I've never been with a girl, but I don't think I'm totally against it." I explain to her, "I'm a very open person."

She nods her head at my response and stands up, pushing her hand through her hair. "I'll let you sleep." She says and walks toward the door.

I stand up and bite my lip, "hey Leah?"

"Hm?" Her brows creep higher on her face while she waits for me to speak.

"Do you feel guilty for kissing me?" I ask her.

She laughs like she's confused, "what?"

"I mean... kissing your brothers ex-fiancĂ© days after they've split... does it make you feel guilty? It's kinda fucked up, don't you think?" I ask.

"Guilty? No. Maybe it's because he cheated on you, but you deserve better than him, and I promise you I am better than him, Jennifer." Her response catches me off guard, "not that I'm trying to- sorry, that came out so wrong." She pauses and shakes her head, "look, the only thing I feel a little bit guilty about is the fact that I am so attracted to you even though I shouldn't be. And that my parents are downstairs and have no clue I'm in your room with the door closed." She smirks, "feels like high school."

I grin, "goodnight Leah. Thank you." I whisper and she winks at me, leaving the room.

I don't doubt that Leah is better than Danny, but it's not my place to figure that out for certain.

  11

"No, no, noooo! Give it- I'll do it!" I laugh and take one of my things from Leah's hands.

"Fine, I guess I'll just sit down and watch you." She sighs and jumps onto my mattress, surrounded by boxes of clothes and other miscellaneous items.

"Just- go get me a water and tell my sister she doesn't have to go get anything from Danny's." I tell her and smile sweetly. I'm very picky... I like things a certain way, and Leah hasn't quite figured out which way that is yet.

"Yes, boss." She laughs and walks out of my new room in my sister's apartment.

I shake my head and continue unpacking my things. This room is small compared to the master bedroom I'm used to. Don't even get me started on the closet size... or the detached tiny bathroom. I guess this is the downside of apartment living.

Living with my sister again is definitely going to be different considering that I've been living with Danny since the day I turned 18... I think it'll be good though. After going through this I need her. It'll get me back to myself kinda... hard to explain.

Leah offered to help me move in today and I'm glad she did. I need her around to keep me laughing and distracted. She's playing a bigger part in my "recovery" than she realizes.

"Here is your water, boss." Leah smirks and comes back into my room.

I take it from her and sigh, "I'm so tired." I complain, plopping myself down on the floor.

She makes a face and sits with me, "you've had a long day!"

"I'm thinking about unpacking this shit tomorrow, I'm gonna fix my bed and call it a day." I tell her.

She nods and gets up, "where you going?" I ask her, watching. She goes to my bed and starts to put sheets on the mattress and grabs two of my blankets from a box. "Well aren't you just wonderful?" I tease her and get on the freshly made bed and lay on my back, staring up at the ceiling.

"You holding up okay?" She asks me and slaps my inner thigh. I glance at her and shrug my shoulders, remaining quiet. "I don't like when you get all quiet when I ask you a question... tell me." She pushes.11

I sigh and roll onto my stomach, "it just sucks, Leah. I don't know what else to say besides that. I thought I had it all figured out and now I'm back to square one." Reflecting on everything... it is a lot. And it really sucks.

"It does suck, and I hate that it didn't work out for you... but don't give up on it all yet. You'll get everything figured out and create your own routine and stuff. Things will be feeling like normal in no time." She grins, "you'll meet someone else and you'll fall in love with them and they won't spend years cheating on you." She tells me and gives me a look.

I force a smile and nod, "thank you for being here. Not many people would stick around after a girl dumps their brother.." I say, sorta joking, but not really.

After a few more minutes of talking, Leah hugs me and kisses my head softly. "Get some sleep, call me tomorrow and I'll come help you unpack." She says and I nod.

I listen to her footsteps go all the way down the hall and out the door.

After she's gone, my sister comes to my room. "She left already?" She asks and sits down on my bed.

"I'm beat. She'll be back to help me." I explain and my sister nods.

"What do you think of Leah?" I ask Jackie and she looks at me funny.2

She raises her brows, "what do you mean?"

  "Just... as a person."

"She's sweet. I like her. You two seem to be close and I haven't seen you get close with many people for a while now... it's good to see change." She tells me with a smile. She seems happy for me, really.

"Do you think-" I stop and sigh. "If I ask you this... you can't freak out. It's just a question." I say.

She laughs and waits for my question.

"Do you think she's attractive?" I ask and she cocks her head to the side and widens her eyes.

  "Woah..."

"Shut up. It's a simple question."

"I mean, if I was into girls..." She says and stares at me. "You like her?!"

"I did not say that. I just- Leah's gay... you know that. She kissed me on
ce and it made me think about the whole 'being with a girl' thing." I admit.

"You've kissed?! Did you cheat on Danny?" She asks.

"That's bold. No. This was after the fact, it wasn't anything. Leave me alone. I'm going to bed!"

  "But-"

  "Goodnight, Jackie!"

  * * *

I wake up for the first time in my sisters apartment, and it's actually pretty peaceful here. I was expecting it to be loud and bright at night since she's closer to the city, but I actually like it here. It's nice.

I head down the hall and find my sister in the kitchen on her computer. She smiles and slides a cup to me, "here." She says.

I take the cup and smile at her, "thank you." I say and sit down, looking at the screen in front of her.

"You're welcome. Plans today? Or are you just unpacking?" She asks me.

"I'm gonna have to stay here and unpack. All the clutter and boxes in my room are driving me insane." I say and roll my eyes.

"I would love to help, but I have other things I promised I wouldn't back out on. Leah is coming to help you, right?" She asks. I know she doesn't want to help, she's glad she has a way out of this.

"Right. And yes, Leah's coming over later. I have to call her." I say and grab my phone.

"Great! I feel a lot less guilty about leaving you here with all those boxes now.. I'm going to shower!" My sister yells and runs to her room.

"Morning." I greet Leah when she picks up the phone.

"Mm- good morning. You're up early." She mumbles.

"Oh god, did I wake you up?!" I ask, not realizing that most people are still sleeping at this hour.

"It's fine. I need to get up anyway." She laughs and I smile a little.

"Well, now that you're up.... come help me. I wanna get this stuff moved and unpacked so I can go out tonight and not feel like I'm abandoning my responsibilities." I say.

  "Going out where?"

"Hasn't been decided! I just want a break... are you coming?"

"Yes, I'll get up and shower and come over." Leah promises.

  "Shower quickly." I beg.

"Oh my god, you're ridiculous. I'll be there soon." She groans.

Maybe I'm a little attached to Leah... just a tad.

  12

"God, you're a slow driver." I tease Leah as I open the door.

She smiles, standing there in her white t-shirt and torn-up jeans. "Shut up." She rolls her eyes and comes inside. "Where is your sister?"

"She went somewhere with some friends. Just me and you." I laugh and she follows me to my room where we start unpacking and organizing things.

This goes on for a few hours and it gets more and more boring by the second.

  "Jennifer." Leah mumbles.

I'm sitting on the floor folding up some clothes, and I thought Leah was doing something productive... but no, she's laying on my bed staring at the ceiling.

"Really?" I laugh and get up, sitting on the bed beside her.

"This is incredibly boring. Can we do something? Go eat lunch? Shop? Anything?!" She pouts.

"I have to get this done!!!" I say and fall onto my back, putting my hand on her thigh when I do.2

She turns her head and looks at me, "please?" She whispers.

"I'm gonna smack you." I whisper and she and I both laugh. "I'll make you a deal. If we finish this we can go eat or order pizza or something."1

"Yes!!!" She says and jumps up, getting busy with the organization process.

  * * *

"This was the stupidest idea you've had since I met you." Leah teases as we jump back into her car, soaking wet.4

I talked her into going for a quick little run after we finished everything and she agreed; however, neither of us thought to check the forecast. Needless to say it started pouring down rain and we both got drenched and now we have to go back home.

"Stupid ideas make for good stories!" I laugh and she looks at me, shaking her head.

"I'm drenched, Jennifer. This story sucks."

"I am too, you'll survive." I grin and she starts to drive us back.

We go up to my new apartment and I close the door, locking it behind me. I peel my sopping wet t-shirt off of my torso and throw it into the laundry room to wash later on.

"Ugh, now I have to shower." I pout.

Leah turns around and faces me and I watch her eyes go down my body, but she quickly pulls them back up. "You're complaining? This will be the second shower today for me." She says and folds her arms over her chest.

I smile softly and walk to my room, she follows. "I'll make it up to you. I can order pizza and we can watch TV or something. I have wine too." I tell her and she walks towards me and touches my forehead to wipe water droplets off of it.

"Pizza sounds good." She says quietly and looks at me. I just stand there and I look at her lips because they're right in front of me. What else am I supposed to look at?2

I take a deep breath and along with it I let out a deep sigh.

Leah leans in and kisses me slowly and waits for me to give her some idea of if I want her to back off or keep going.

I kiss her back a little and her hand finds its way to my neck and moves up to hold my head steady.

We kiss numerous times, but it's nothing too serious.9

"Leah." I finally mutter and she pulls her lips off of mine.

  "Hm?"

"You know this isn't a good idea." I whisper and she nods her head yes and then looks at me.

We both stare for a moment and then she shakes her head slowly, "like you said.. stupid ideas make for good stories." She laughs and keeps looking at my lips.4

I look up at the ceiling and bite my lip while her hands touch my sides. I feel her lips touch my neck and she's making it hard to turn her down.

"Leah, I'm sweaty and wet." I say, thinking of the first excuse that pops into my head.4

She looks at me and smirks, "wet, huh?"

"Stop. I meant the rain!" I giggle and put my hands on her shoulders. "I wasn't talking about..."

"Well, are you?" She asks and her teeth grab her bottom lip. She stares at me and I grin with embarrassments. I can't even bring myself to look at her, I'll get red as a tomato.

She puts her face beside mine, leaving her lips beside my ear, "tell me." She whispers and I'm melting.

"You were almost my sister-in-law..." I point out.

She laughs softly and kisses my jaw, "almost doesn't count." She says.5

I look at her for a few seconds and smile shyly. I grab her face and kiss her slowly and she glides her tongue deep into my mouth. We make out for a few minutes (unarguably one of the best make out sessions I've ever taken part in), and I let out a soft moan.

She moves her hands on my skin and I feel her fingers going down my body.

I take a noticeable breath and she stops, "you okay?" She asks me.

I nod my head and her hands start to pull my pants over my hips and down to my ankles. She stands up and grabs my hands and pulls me to my bed where I lay down and let her crawl on top of me.

She kisses me and her hands go to my panties... then her cold fingers slip inside of them. "Mm- okay." I mumble and shift my weight.

  6

Her two fingers are quite busy in my underwear. While her hand works ok pleasing me, I fight to stay quiet and not moan into her mouth. It's already bad enough and awkward enough that she's doing this to me... why would I want to moan into her perfect mouth too?

In the middle of all of this... I hear the worst possible sound. The front door.

"Oh my god." I mumble and try to get up. Mind you that Leah still has her fingers... you know.

"Lay down." She whispers, but in a demanding and sexy way.

"My sister is home!!" I say quietly.6

"I'll be done before she gets here." She grins and moves her fingers again, this time hitting me in another way.1

It takes every bit of strength I have to not let out a loud moan... so instead I wrap my arms around Leah's back, surely
clawing her with my nails. I hold her tight and breathe out deeply as I reach my orgasm and then she looks at me, "go shower. I'll stall your sister." She whispers and kisses my cheek.

"Leah!" I giggle and run the the bathroom. Before I shut the door I shake my head at her and she winks at me and then I watch her lick her two fingers off. My jaw drops and I slam the door and turn the shower on.15

I lean against the door, breathless. I can't believe that just happened... or how good that felt. Can that be a thing? Is that allowed to happen again ? I already know that was a terrible idea, but I don't care right now. My body loves me for allowing that to happen.

  13

I come out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around my naked body and go directly to my room. I find Leah on my bed and I close the door quietly.

"Is she gone?" I ask and run my hand through my wet hair.

"No, you have a small problem to deal with..." Leah teases and stands up.

  "What?!"

"Just sister things... get dressed and go hug her. She's in for the night I think. Her plans got ruined." Leah explains.

"Dammit." I grunt and Leah forces a smile. "Go away. I need to get dressed." I say and fight a smile, now remembering everything that happened fifteen minutes ago.

  "Really? I just fin-"

"No! Shh." I say and put my hand on her mouth. "Look at the wall. I'm getting dressed." I tell her with a shy smile. She rolls her eyes but does what I ask.

Once I'm dressed she turns to face me, "you want me to go?"

  "I didn't say that." I tell her.

"You're thinking it though." She says and I bite my cheek.

"Leah I don't know if that can happen again." I whisper. She sighs and leans on the corner of my dresser.

  "It's fine." She assures me.

After a moment, she slowly kisses me and I grab the corner of her shirt as I kiss her back. "Go home. It's late." I whisper and she kisses me a few more times. I start to smile under her lips and she finally pulled away from me.

"G'night." She tells me as she walks out of my room.

  Two days later38

I'm finally starting to feel "settled" at my sister's apartment. It took a little bit of getting used to, and I'm still trying to get totally situated, but it's progressing quite nicely.
